Foothills Animal Shelter is one of the leading adoption facilities and educational resources for animal care in the state of Colorado. As an open-admissions shelter (never turning away an animal) and one of the largest animal shelters in the metro Denver area, they take in nearly 10,000 animals each year. The Shelter’s adoption rate is exceptional and in 2008, exceeded the average of the seven largest animal shelters in the Denver area. Foothills Animal Shelter is a true community resource that offers a broad variety of animal welfare programs and services. Low-cost spaying/neutering, vaccinations, microchipping and dog licensing are some of the services offered to the public.
On the evening of August 28, the Table Mountain Animal Center Foundation’s top supporters will celebrate the Grand Opening of the new Foothills Animal Shelter with a fabulous VIPP* Gala!
They’ll be raising funds and Raising the WOOF! for their beautiful new shelter with this fun-filled evening. Set amid a legendary private car collection and museum, you’ll enjoy great food and drink–served in a “tasting” format and donated and presented by local restaurants and beverage vendors–in addition to live entertainment from Wild Ivories dueling pianos, silent and live auctions, and much more! All proceeds from the event will benefit the animals cared for at the new Foothills Animal Shelter.
There is also a free Daytime Community Event on August 28 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the new shelter (580 McIntyre St., Jeffco Fairgrounds, Golden). This event will include family-friendly fun to include interactive tours of the shelter, food, face painting, music by The Mellow Johnnies, mingling with the animals, free giveaways, and much more!
