The DogOscopes Rescue Group of the Week is The Misha May Foundation.
In order to create a society in which abandonment, homelessness and euthanasia of dogs does not exist, The Misha May Foundation rescues, rehabilitates and finds forever homes for dogs at risk, regardless of age or breed, issue or amount of time needed, in conjunction with providing educational services to the community.
Misha, a beautiful, spunky 10 month old Black lab mix, was on her way to a shelter in Clearwater, Florida when she had the good fortune to be rescued by a couple who kept her for a year before finding her a home with the founder of The Misha May Foundation. She became her inspiration, constant companion, and the joy of her life for more than 15 years.
The mission of The Misha May Foundation is:
– To provide options, training and rehabilitation for homeless mixed-breed dogs, or any dogs who need us, until they find a permanent home.
– To design creative foster partnerships and innovative programs which maintain or improve the health, social skills and overall well-being of these dogs as they wait for their perfect people.
– To consistently support other non-profit organizations that aid and benefit animals.
– To provide structure, training and support for rescue volunteers and the community at large.
