So if you are planning a birthday party for your Poochces the Pisces canine kid, we have some ideas for a throwing a great celebration.
Poochces the Pisces include those pups born from Feb. 19 to March 20. They are shy, compassionate, risk taking, water loving, adaptable and sensitive. So since Poochces love the water a Gone Fishin’ themed party would make your puppy’s day super special.
1. Games
Setup a mini swimming pool in the backyard. Fill it with water and tennis balls. Then let the pups lose at a game of “bobbing for balls.”
2. Party Favors
Ruffians Fish by JW Pet would make great party favors or gift for the Poochces party. Like all the Ruffians dog toys, the Fish is made of natural rubber and has a bouncy, squeaky quality your dog will love.
3. Activities
Schedule your doggie party, at a dog-friendly swimming pool in your area. You can meet, have food, let the dogs swim.
Canine Rehabilitation & Conditioning Group (CRCG) has the Front Range’s first and largest above ground, heated, indoor pool. It’s 26 foot x 18 foot and four feet deep and boy, is it fun!
4. Treats
Get a fish shaped cookie cutter and make some Peanut Butter Fish Bones for party treats.
Peanut Butter Fish Bones
Ingredients:
1 packet dry yeast
1/2 cup lukewarm water
1 cup mashed potatoes
1 cup milk
1/4 cup molasses
1/2 cup chicken stock
1 cup chunky peanut butter
1 cup whole wheat flour
1/2 cup rye flour
1/2 cup rice flour
1 egg
2 cups all-purpose white flour
Preheat oven to 325 degrees.
Dissolve the yeast in water in a large bowl, leave to one side. Using a large saucepan mix together the potatoes, milk, molasses, stock and peanut butter. Bring to the boil, stirring frequently. Remove from heat and cool to room temperature the add yeast mixture. Gradually blend in the egg, wheat, rye, and rice flours. Add enough white flour to form a stiff dough. Transfer to a floured surface and knead until smooth (about 3-5 minutes). Shape the dough into a ball and roll to 1/2-inch (12 mm) thick.
Using cookie cutters shaped like fish or other aquatic animals, cut out biscuits. Place on ungreased cookie sheets, spacing them about 1/4-inch (6 mm) apart. Gather up the scraps, roll out again, and cut additional biscuits. Bake for 45 minutes. Leave to cool overnight. They should have the consistency of pizza crusts and are a great dog party treats! You should be able to make several dozen ‘fishbones’ from this mix.
