We love happy endings at DogOscopes. To celebrate the great work of rescue groups and to promote dog adoption, we are going to start a new blog series that shares with you these happy endings.
So meet Carmella, a rescue from Rocket Dog Rescue.
When her rescue family picked Carmella up from the rescue she was a bag of bones. She had been starved nearly to death, her tail was broken, much of her fur was missing, and she had clearly had puppies recently. Despite being so hurt, her eyes were clear and loving and trusting.
The first couple of weeks were tough at home. She could not control her bladder but then she began to eat and feel better. Today Carmella is 20 pounds heavier, muscular, and truly beautiful. Even with no formal training she is a joy to walk and we can command her from a distance.
And this quote from her forever family says it all … “Carmella is an angel, a gift, a joy, and a blessing. We could never part with her, so we adopted her. Thank you Rocket Dog!!!”
Founded in 2001, Rocket Dog Rescue is an all-volunteer, home-based nonprofit group dedicated to saving homeless and abandoned animals from euthanasia in overcrowded Bay Area shelters.
